Joseph Fox
Catering is the epicurean expression of the union of James Fox and
Maria Joseph. We understand that food is a metaphor for the important
things in life. Our love of cooking is combined with a commitment
to quality and the freshest locally-produced ingredients available.
We believe that good food can make a good party great and that the
best food is inspired by the season and is produced in a manner
that is harmonious with the earth. We understand the long term benefits
of choosing meat, eggs, and dairy products from grass-fed animals,
thus much of our ingredients come from local family farms.
James' first
restaurant job was in New York City's South Street Seaport, where
he began as a prep cook. His talent and skill were quickly recognized
and he moved up the ranks quickly. He has served as sous chef and
executive chef in top rated French and American restaurants and
catering companies in New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles, among
them, Les Halles and Ferrier restaurants in New York City.
Before teaming with James and forming the Lower Manhattan based
Joseph Fox Catering, Maria has trained with chefs in her native
New Orleans, as well as in Los Angeles and New York. In New York,
in 2004, she and two of her sisters, with whom she grew up cooking
and entertaining, formed a small catering company. When her sisters
left New York to follow other pursuits, she began working as a private
chef.
Independently
and now together, we have helped people on the east coast, west
coast and the gulf coast host events large and small, casual to
elegant, and all memorable. If there's a party in your future, we
